The Artist Outreach Project is a grant that funds artists, age 55 and older, to share their passion and expertise with underserved community members. This OC-based grant provides $12,000 plus a budget for materials to accomplished visual, performing or literary artists who want to use their work to provide high quality educational, mentoring and therapeutic experiences to a specific, underserved local population for a period of 12-months. How to Apply: Propose the arts programming you will provide, identify the population you want to serve, and choose a local nonprofit to collaborate with. The Fine Print: You must be at least 55 years old and live in or plan to serve people in or around Orange County. Artists contribute 6 hours each week to the population they serve (smaller grants will be considered for artists who want to spend less time). Deadline: The Foundation will begin accepting applications on January 1, 2017. The application deadline is March 31, 2017. In the meantime, interested artists are encouraged to contact the Picerne Foundation at 949-267- 1517 or by e-mail to discuss their plans for an Artist Outreach application.
